Audrey Hepburn inspires throughout the year, but her summer ensembles are particularly noteworthy. During her holidays in Antibes, the actress sported oversized sunglasses, and for boat excursions, she opted for wide-brimmed hats with unique shapes. While filming “Roman Holiday,” she shared gelato with Gregory Peck, wearing a skirt with a cinched waist. In her leisure time with her husband Mel Ferrer, the actress frequently wore checkered capri pants. Fortunately, numerous photographs preserve Audrey Hepburn’s diverse summer looks from her younger days.
Many of these pictures were taken at the famous Bürgenstock Resort in Lucerne, Switzerland. In 1954, Audrey Hepburn married Mel Ferrer in a chapel on the resort grounds. She later resided at Villa Bethania, a house also part of the resort complex. Subsequently, the actress relocated to the Swiss village of Tolochenaz. There, she lived in an 18th-century farmhouse named La Paisible. Vogue photographed this home for its April 1961 issue. When Audrey Hepburn was not acting or attending promotional events in Hollywood, she enjoyed playing golf, gardening, and relaxing amidst the Swiss Alps.
